Some things we teach. Some things we learn. And some things we can only begin to understand through words.

MY RELATIONSHIP WITH WRITING

Writing as a way of understanding

Writing helps me make sense of the world, explore lasting questions and express what is hard to articulate. It spans education, children’s literature and poetry, linked by curiosity about people and the stories that shape them. My published work appears under the name Catarina R. Peterson.

POETRY

Reflections on being human

Poetry is the more vulnerable space in my writing. It deals with love, grief, belonging, identity, change and contradiction, and comes from mindful joy and gratitude as well as loss and uncertainty.

My poetry was published in Kindred Spirit (UK) in October 2019, and a collection is still in development.
