Cat Peterson, M.Ed. is an IB (International Baccalaureate) PYP early years teacher.

Golden Sparkles was inspired by her experiences using mindfulness to help one of her classes where many students had complex social and emotional needs. Together, they learned to pay attention to the messages of their bodies in order to identify their emotions, reflect before acting on their feelings, and communicate their wants and needs.

The classroom slowly transformed, and by the end of the year, happy families were prepared to take mindfulness with them out of school. Cat now writes to share her experiences and help children beyond her classroom learn how to be mindful, resilient, and kind.
